I can't help, but I find this book out of date and for the price only about a 1/3 of the pages have information not covered by more recent introductions to R. The first edition was published in 2008/9 and not much was changed in the second edition.

I am using this book to teach a graduate level course on Statistical Computing. It is very well written with great examples and helpful exercises.

My background: This is my first book on R, but I am not new to data analysis tools. I’m familiar with Python for data analysis and Tableau for visualization.
